Partner Agency Directory

Agencies are accepted for United Way membership based on needs in the community and the capacity of the agency to address those needs. Once approved, agency programs and budgets are reviewed annually by a  volunteer committee.  The committe volunteers visit the agencies, review their budgets and recommend how much money the agencies should receive and under what conditions. The United Way Board of Directors approves the level of funding each agency receives based on the recommendations of these volunteers.

Appalachian Girl Scout Council

Appalachian Independence Center

Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Washington County

Bread of Life Community Food Pantry

Bristol Regional Speech & Hearing Center

Cancer Outreach Foundation

Children's Advocacy Center

Damascus Senior Citizens

Highlands Educational Literacy Program

Hospice Support Services

People Incorporated of Southwest Virginia

Homemaker Program - Teaches parenting skills in home management safety, child care, and using community resources to families with children under age 10. Parents In Education - Provides home visitors to assist families of kindergarten children by helping parents prepare their child for success in school and encouraging parent involvement in their child's education. Resource Mothers - Provides home visitors to support and educate pregnant teens and teen mothers to raise their babies to be healthy and successful. Virginia Cares - Works with ex-offenders to help them readjust to life outside prison and to become productive citizens.
